Fengbao Special Steel’s “Double Stars” shine in Anyang

On September 16, the Anyang Municipal Labor Model Commendation Conference was grandly held at the Workers’ Cultural and Sports Center. Li Xianghong, head of the Security Department of Fengbao Special Steel, and Song Hao, chief operator of the No. 2 Blast Furnace, were both awarded the title of “Anyang Municipal Labor Model,” becoming the city’s shining “twin stars.”

Li Xianghong: For thirty years, he has been known for his uncompromising discipline enforcement, earning the title “Guardian of Steel.” Since joining the company in 1992, Li has worn the Party badge on his chest and etched his responsibilities into his very being. Over the past five years, he has led his team in investigating 12 cases of internal and external corruption and raw material fraud, directly recovering losses of 3.47 million yuan for the enterprise. During the pandemic, he formed a militia unit to ensure production against all odds, being hailed as the “Most Beautiful Countermarcher.”

Song Hao: Under the blistering heat of molten iron at over 1,400 degrees Celsius, he pledged to “refine every furnace of iron with the spirit of the Red Flag Canal.” Together with his colleagues, he innovated six operational methods and broke daily production records 11 times. Known as the “Breathing Thermometer,” he can judge the silicon content of molten iron within ±0.05% with the naked eye.
