On June 22, He Lifeng, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, visited Fengbao Group for an on-site inspection. He conducted an in-depth tour of the production facilities and gained a detailed understanding of the company’s production and operations, technological innovation, and foreign trade performance.
Mr. Li Jingmin, General Manager of the Company, reported on Fengbao’s high-quality development strategy. The company is advancing two major transformation and upgrading pathways: 1.from iron and steel smelting toward special steel new materials. 2.from specialty steel pipes toward advanced equipment manufacturing. Fengbao is focusing on its core businesses, including special seamless steel tubes and commercial vehicle axle components, while also presenting its achievements in overseas market development.
Vice Premier He Lifeng highly recognized the company’s development achievements. He emphasized the importance of strengthening industry–university–research collaboration, accelerating the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and promoting deep integration between technological innovation and industrial development to empower the upgrading of traditional industries. He also encouraged the company to leverage its strengths, further align with international standards, effectively respond to uncertainties, facilitate international trade, and continuously improve quality and efficiency.
Highlights of Fengbao Group’s Business Segments
Fengbao Pipe Industry is deeply engaged in three major product series: ultra-deep and ultra-deepwater oil pipes, hydrogen transportation and storage pipes, and construction machinery pipes. The company owns proprietary intellectual property in special threaded connections and has become a key domestic seamless steel tube manufacturing base in China. It maintains long-term partnerships with major energy enterprises such as PetroChina, Sinopec, CNOOC, and Yanchang Petroleum. Its products are exported to the Middle East, North America, and Europe, and the company is a qualified supplier to international energy giants such as Saudi Aramco. From January to May 2026, export performance increased by 121% year-on-year.
Fengbao Heavy Industry utilizes high-quality self-produced steel tubes as raw materials to develop axle products characterized by long service life and lightweight design, achieving 100% online inspection and traceability. Its independently developed electric drive and generator axle systems for commercial vehicles are leading the industry’s new energy transformation. The company has established partnerships with leading enterprises such as China National Heavy Duty Truck Group, Shaanxi Hande Axle, and FAW Group. Its products are exported to Europe, Africa, and other regions.
Fengbao High Energy focuses on the green transformation of the aluminum industry. In collaboration with the Zhengzhou Research Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals, its technology has received the Science and Technology First Prize of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association. Its flagship product—high-conductivity electrode materials—is widely adopted by major domestic aluminum producers. The company is recognized as a globally leading manufacturer of electrodes for electrolytic aluminum applications and was awarded the “Outstanding Capacity Efficiency Enterprise Award” in May 2026.
Fengbao Group leverages postdoctoral research stations and corporate technology centers, and maintains long-term cooperation with universities such as the University of Science and Technology Beijing and Northeastern University.
The company conducts joint R&D in cutting-edge materials including offshore engineering steel, hydrogen storage and transportation steel, and nuclear power-grade steel. This has formed a virtuous development cycle of “technology driving products, and products expanding markets.”
