On June 29, two key projects under Henan Fengbao Special Steel achieved important phased results. The rooftop solar power generation project at Datong Logistics Park, part of Fengbao Pipe Industry’s grid-load-storage integration project, was successfully connected to the power grid. Meanwhile, the upsetting line technical upgrading and efficiency improvement project, included in the company’s weak-link improvement initiatives, has been completed and will be put into operation in July, marking tangible progress in Fengbao Special Steel’s transformation and upgrading drive.
Since last year, Fengbao Special Steel has made substantial investments in product structure adjustment, production efficiency upgrading and green circular economy development, bringing a number of key projects into critical advancement stages. As a key provincial project of Henan Province, the high-end precision special steel pipe project for advanced equipment manufacturing has completed the installation of its core 230-ton piercing mill base. The 1,000-mm large round bloom continuous casting machine project has finished foundation backfilling, and the construction of the steel structure workshop is advancing as scheduled. In addition, the project capable of recycling and dismantling 30,000 end-of-life vehicles annually has been fully completed and is now in the key stage of formality processing, special acceptance inspection and qualification application.
According to Li Jingmin, General Manager of Henan Fengbao Special Steel, Fengbao Pipe Industry has developed three major product series: high-strength, high-toughness and corrosion-resistant steel pipes for deep underground and deep-sea petroleum applications, hydrogen transportation and storage pipes for pressure vessels, and steel pipes for engineering machinery and automobiles. Supported by in-depth product research and development, as well as independent intellectual property rights for premium connection of oil casings and tubing, the company has developed into an important national R&D and production base for seamless steel pipes. It has established long-term strategic cooperation with PetroChina, Sinopec, CNOOC and Yanchang Petroleum, with products exported to the Middle East, North America, Europe and other regions. Its export volume increased by 121% year-on-year in the first five months of this year.
Fengbao Heavy Machinery, another subsidiary of the group, aims to build a world-class vehicle axle brand. Its axle products are made of high-quality steel pipes supplied by Fengbao Pipe Industry and adopt one-step forming technology through special processing procedures, featuring long service life and lightweight properties. The company has launched a range of self-developed new products, including dedicated vehicle electric drive systems and power-generating axles. It has established strategic cooperative relations with leading enterprises such as CNHTC, Shaanxi Hande Axle and FAW Group, and its products are exported to Europe, Africa and other regions.
